Dr. Howai (Jenny) Chan

Dr. Howai (Jenny) Chan

Optometrist

Dr. Chan is a New Jersey native who misses the sound of bagpipes in the air from her undergrad years at Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Chan graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. She first came to Baltimore during an internship at Katzen Eye Group and was quickly won over by the charming cobblestone streets of Fells Point and the smell of freshly baked H&S bread. Dr. Chan found her first job as an optometrist (and her husband!) in Baltimore so it was easy to plant roots in this beautiful city. She serves as the president of the Greater Baltimore Optometric Society (GBOS) and is an executive member of the Maryland Optometric Association (a local chapter of the American Optometric Association). She is excited to bring her ocular health expertise and spectacle style to the Mount Washington neighborhood.

Shenelle

Shenelle

Patient care representative

Shenelle is a Landover native who moved to Baltimore after getting married in 2011. She is a fanatic for mystery books and self-proclaimed “Crazy Plant Lady” with over 30 plant babies. Shenelle got her first pair of reading glasses in elementary school, but it was eyewear prescribed for eye strain that kick-started her interest in optometry five years ago. She loved her fun and upbeat optometry office, and strives to offer that atmosphere to patients of Clarity Eyecare. Shenelle is also excited to use her love of fashion — from color to shapes and patterns — and passion for communication and language (she’s well-versed in American Sign Language!) to help you find glasses that speak to your unique style.

Ches

Ches

Patient care representative

Ches was born and raised in Sykesville before moving to Towson as a young adult. They have a love for the arts (including sewing, crafting, drawing, and music) and nature. Ches is also devoted to their two adorable kitties and expansive reptile collection. Their eyecare journey began in high school, after getting their first pair of glasses for astigmatism and myopia. Ches evolved from hiding behind their frames to using eyewear as a bold accessory to break the norm and express their vibrant personality and sense of style. With years of experience in sales and customer service, Ches brings passion for fashion, self-expression, and patient care to the Clarity Eyecare team.
